28 Oct.....it has been 1 month since I left home for
london....nothing much have happened and I'm settling in quite nicely, only that I do get bored at times....that's why i blogging now...
haha...
The weather is getting colder day by day......nightfall is getting earlier....at
arnd 5pm it's already dark.......crap rite.....and there's this daylight saving thing ......i am now officially 8hrs behind
singapore time.........
I have been window shopping much.......because that what poor students do..."hint hint government, scholars eat mouldy bread for lunch you know.....haha....at least that's not me cos
i'm too lazy to prepare lunch....." okay back to shopping......wanted to get a backpack...but the prices are outrageous.....the
quiksilver here is twice of that in spore......so i have to wait for boxing day sale...but i bought a blazer for 5 pounds....so cheap rite...if i didn't get it, i will not have forgiven myself....
haha......
Work is starting to pile up but its still at a comfortable pace so I have no complains....hopefully my design project will be smooth-sailing, fingers-crossed...the late night
dota sessions help to ease a little stress...haha....but its quite crazy that we actually "pah
lan" (i guess only my class guys know this....its a pun

Brugges and other stuff..... / Tuesday, October 16, 2007
On fri, the singaporeans clique of eee held a pot-luck, where everyone fr seniors to juniors had to cook something. Staying at a catered-hall, i actually didnt know what to cook. But when xuan you said he was cooking bah ku teh, i offered to chip in. haha......That was my first time cooking in uk....and i have to admit i was quite noob.....didnt know must wash the meat...i thought the meat would have been cleaned already.....as that day was pretty slack, we had time to cook the bah ku teh at yijun's kitchen at beit. After much brewing and addition of soy, dark soy and oyster sauce, the soup tasted somewhat nice. haha....At the pot-luck, there was lots n lots of food and it was the first time that we juniors tasted KFC, which was really good at that time(maybe we were jus too hungry.) After the sumptuous dinner, there was the introductions and mocking of other "people" (have to be politically correct here.....) At the end of the event, was the handing over of the sacred logbooks and notes from seniors.....A eee tradition....haha......
Dragging the heavy notes around, I finally reached xue kun's hall, ready to sleep over and prepare for the day trip to brugges.
5am, having only slept for 2 to 3 hours, we had to wash up and hop onto the coach. which took us on a 2 hr journey to dover. From there, we had to take a 1.5hr ferry to France. The coach actually drove straight into the ferry. Cool rite....

coach entering the ferry....

on the ferry

"holy" rays from the heavens?
Finally, after another 1.5hr of nap time in the bus, we arrived at brugges....however the coach jus dumped us at the carpark...we had to find our way to the city centre, which was about 20min walk away. It was a pretty small town, with traditonal european structures, nothing much actually...haha... firstly, we were quite hungry and the lure of belgian waffles with ice cream was to great and we all sank out teeth into the hot buttery waffles that was complemented with the sweet creamy praline ice-cream....yum....next up...to find the speciality of belgium...chocs.....

chocs...lovely selection of them
a weird shaped bridge
photos wif fellow a star ppl
our shadows...guess which one am i...
cool medival figurings...was so tempted to buy, but haf to budget...arhhhh...if i see them again, i will surely grab.....
3 hrs....that's all the time that we had in brugges....a little too short...but the journey back is really long....so that's a sacrifice.....
guess i had lots of stuff to say...but too lazy to write .....haha....
so on mon, went to queen's theatre to watch les miserables.....was really gd.....we were so near the front that everything was so clear...and it only cost 67 sing dollars.....gd deal....though i did not really thought much about musicals, after this one, i guess i'm hooked...haha...but then again, the number of showsthat i watch will depend on how deep my pocket is...haha

London outing with singsoc.... / Sunday, October 07, 2007

along the way....we caught a glimpse of the famous big ben...bet u don't know what exactly is the big ben. It's not the tower, not the clock, but the bell that rings when the hand strikes twelve...now u know.....

aft that we headed to trafalgar square....i kinda of forgot the the story behind the place...haha...along the way we saw ppl waiting to join some demostration, something we will nv see in singapore..haha...they were protesting for uk to render aid to burma....joshua and i ran across the street to take a photo with the banners...we were quite scared that they would wallop us...haha...but the pic wif holocaust was worth it....

after that...we went to piccadilly circus, which was somewhat a shopping area, but we did not hang around there for long....then we headed to covent gardens, another shopping area....apparently we did not have the mood to shop cos we were damn hungry...luckily josh bought ben's cookies...oh they were damn sinful but heavenly....haha...but its abt 1pound per cookie....i guess i'll treat myself to it when i'm feeling down....haha.
..finally we went for dinner at a chinese restaurant....i had fried rice ....abit lame but it was really gd...cos i did not have rice for a week...and with the chilli sauce...it was jus too worth the 6pounds...imagine 18 bucks for fried rice...i guess only the one with crabmeat in singapore can match that price.....then i went to william, a senior hse to celebrate his bdae....and also to visit jianyuan's place...haha....it was not bad....a glimpse of wat to expect in the second year...
arh.....tmr sch's starting officially with 9-5 even 6pm days....everyday...hope i can survive...and not slp in lects....haha....

tues was freshers' fayre.....which is a stupid cca event....joined the tennis and fencing, which cost 20 quids(jus honing my british slangs) each...damn ex.....aft which we went to oxford street..shopping paradise....was quite sad the i was a poor student...no cash to shop.......but the topshop was huge...4 storeys........
.JPG)

went to hyde park for a walk today (wed)...was there for orientating, which is a cca that makes u run arnd a certain area to different check points....jus went becos i wanted to see the famous park and also, i was too free...the ppl who attended it mostly ran around crazily, while i an a few others jus strolled around, snapping shots on the way...haha i guess i'm jus too lazy to run....the park was huge and a great place to stroll, jogging maybe....but not today.......the swans and ducks were plentiful...and interestingly, i found out that when ducks lift one leg up, they are settling their big businesses......haha.....
